Silent Zones are used to create areas where the warnings emitted by the Personal and Vehicle Alarm Devices are ignored. Silent Zones are standard on the vehicle for the Operator but can also be installed in locations where personnel are protected by walls and guard rails. Personnel in Offices and Machine Areas will not be distracted by the warning signals as vehicles drive by. Silent Zones can be Oval in shape up to 22 feet in diameter or Linear up to 250’ in length.
Typical Silent Zone Locations
* Cab of Forklift
* Safe Areas Protected by Guard Rails
* Offices with vehicle paths nearby
* Personnel Work Areas
Silent zones are provided to prevent unwanted alarms. A small silencer is placed in the fork truck to prevent the operator from being warned by the MFG on the truck.
Silent zones can be generated for a range of situations to allow pedestrians, known to be in a safe location, but are in a position where Proximity-equipped vehicles are passing near by. The Silent Zone mutes the alarm for the pedestrian and vehicle operators.
Silent zones are available for rooms or for linear spaces such as walkways that are protected from vehicles. These are part of the Mechanized Area Controllers being developed.
Small silencers are available for use near a machine or device that is producing high levels of magnetic fields.
