Mechanised Areas (MAC)

Proximity systems that are very effective within most parts of a facility may not be effective in one or two specific locations. In fact, that may even cause nuisance alarms to the special circumstances in a specific spot in a plant.

A MAC is under development which will automatically alter the way that Proximity systems respond when they are within the precisely defined zone of the MAC.

An example of the MAC usage is to allow either a pedestrian or a truck to be in the zone of a MAC but not allow both at the same time.

Another version of MAC will measure the speed and direction of travel of a truck and give appropriate warnings to the operator and others as the truck approaches a work area.

The MAC is to be available for sale July 1, 2013.
